Audit & Inspection
ICC conducts inspection and auditing procedures to verify that applicants comply with halal operational requirements before approval is granted.
These inspection procedures ensure that production activities, ingredients and operational processes follow halal standards and regulatory requirements.
Inspection Procedures
- The applicant must begin operations before ICC officers can conduct any inspection or audit.
- The following documents must be made available during inspection or audit:
- Relevant licenses issued by local regulatory authorities.
- Floor plan of the plant or premises.
- Identification documents of at least two permanent Muslim staff members.
- Halal certificates and specifications of all raw materials used.
- Purchase invoices and delivery records of raw materials.
- ICC may request additional information regarding ingredients or production processes.
- ICC officers may conduct inspections with or without prior notice.
- The applicant must provide full cooperation and supply all relevant information requested by ICC officers.
- Additional inspections may be conducted if deemed necessary by ICC.
- Periodic unannounced inspections may also take place after approval has been granted.
- If any non-compliance issues are identified during inspection, the applicant must rectify them within the timeframe provided by ICC.
- Failure to correct these issues may result in rejection of the application.
Results of Inspection
Applicants will be notified regarding the results of their application through official communication channels such as mail, telephone or other appropriate methods.
Successful applicants will receive instructions regarding the collection of approval documentation and payment of the required certification fees.
